This historic Whittier home located at 6304 Painter Avenue was built in 1909. It has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms in 2,943 square feet of living space. The 15,295 square foot lot also has a three car garage and a swimming pool.
The house was built by William Milhous and designed by his wife. She designed the house based on their extensive travels throughout Europe adding elements from homes they liked as they traveled. This was the first house she designed. It should be noted that William Milhous was the great uncle of former President Richard Nixon (the brother of Richard Nixon's grandfather).
The current owners, the Pryor family, purchased this residence in 2011 and completed an extensive renovation of the interior and exterior during 2011-2012 restoring the house as a single family residence.
NOTE: The house was listed and sold in 2011 by Claudia Todd and the team at Whittier Brokers.
